Automated Cropping
- If no crop is configured in the image component, the system automatically finds the best appropriate rendition in the DAM.
- Renditions for standard aspect ratios are automatically created for each uploaded image, starting with the maximum 16:9 area of the centered original and downscaling it to the appropriate size.
Component Cropping Overlay
- The crop is defined in the component for Component Cropping Overlay. Cropping coordinates are applied to the orginal image and a virtual rendition is created - no DAM renditions are overwritten in the CRX back-end.
- The virtual rendition is created automatically, once during its first access and is cached by the AEM dispatcher.
- The width of the virtual rendition must be at least 2560 pixels, which is the breakpoint/lower bound of the biggest viewport, 75% of the example image.
- If not, a "not enough renditions matching media formats" warning will be displayed in edit mode and the component will not be rendered. Edit or clear the image to set the correct cropping.
- If the "Invalid" asset error is shown, the image doesn't meet the minumum width requirements. To safely meet all breakpoint reqirements upload images that are 5,000 pixels wide.
